Classes and Training

GED Classes:
GED classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-12:30.   The classes are held by Greeneville Adult Basic Education. New students may sign up at the Adult Basic Education Office at the Walters State Community College Office in Greeneville. 

FIESTA:
Families Integrating English, Spanish and Technology Advantageously, is a year-long grant-funded program that offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and literacy and technology training in the library lab.   The program’s mission is to emphasize education in a culturally sensitive and technologically progressive manner for the entire family.  Members of the Hispanic community are welcome to the program. The group meets at the library on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Computer Classes:
Computer classes for senior citizens are held from September to May in the computer room. Classes are limited to 10 people, last for one month, and are held Mon, Wed, and Friday from 12:30-2:30.  Classes are set up for beginner, word processing and Internet.  The classes are free for Greene County citizens. Interested persons must call to get on the class list.

Evergreen Woodcarvers:
Woodcarvers meet at the library every Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Beginners are welcome and there is no charge for classes, but there is a small fee for supplies.

AARP Income Tax Assistance:
Free income tax assistance every Saturday from January 1st through April 15th by appointment.
