Get a Library card

All Greene County residents or property owners over the age of 5 are eligible to receive a free library card.

We now offer new patrons over the age of 17 the ability to apply for a library card online that will allow you to access the Library’s digital resources, including ebooks and audio books (accessible online through TN Reads and on mobile devices through Overdrive or the Libby app). If you already have a card and want to check out what's available online, check out the information on accessing the digital library resources on our FAQ page.

Alternatively (or if you received a card digitally and you’re now ready to check physical items out, or if you're the parent or guardian of a child ages 5-17), you can bring a picture ID and an additional proof of address to the library to get a physical card. Let the staff know if you’re applying for a new card or if you already have a digital card, and they’ll happily help you get started using the library’s services. New patrons may check out three items on the day the card is issued and on subsequent visits are granted full library privileges (Learn more about our circulation rules and policies here).

There is a $3 fee to replace lost cards.

To request a card online, simply complete the following form in full and click submit. We will send an email as soon as possible (during business hours) with your library card number, which is used to access digital resources.
