The Greene County Writer’s Society is excited to announce that author and Greeneville resident Elizabeth Raum will be the featured speaker at their November meeting. The event is open to the public and will take place on Monday, November 12th at 6pm in the Big Spring Room at the Greeneville/Greene County Public Library.

Raum, a prolific writer with over 160 books to her name, specializes in writing for younger readers. Her work has been widely recognized, with titles like The Big, Bold, Adventurous Life of Lavinia Warren being selected as a Best Social Studies Book by the Children’s Book Council in 2018. Her latest book, A Kidnapping in Kentucky, 1776, is a captivating middle-grade novel based on a true event.

During the Writer’s Society meeting, Raum will share insights into her writing process, answer questions from the audience, and offer her books for sale.

The Greene County Writer’s Society is organized by the Library and meets twice a month in the Big Spring room at the library. Besides the November 12th event, they will host a meeting on November 21st at 5pm where writers can read and get feedback on their works in progress. The group welcomes all aspiring and established writers to attend, and no registration is required. For more information, please call the library at 423-638-5034.
