Register Now for Free Adult Technology Classes at the Library
Sep 24, 2024
The Greeneville/Greene County Public Library is offering a series of free technology classes for adults starting in October. Classes will cover topics like basic computer skills, and using common software like Microsoft Word and Excel. In addition, there will be classes on genealogical research using Ancestry.com, and on other free resources like Libby and the Tennessee Electronic Library.
Individual sessions are also available for those who want to focus on specific skills, such as developing skills with Android or iOS devices. Classes will be held on alternating Mondays and Wednesdays, with the first group class being October 2nd at 9:15 AM covering computer basics and using Microsoft Windows and the second on October 7th at 10:30 AM covering an introduction to the internet including privacy and security. Each class will stand alone, though students are welcome to attend multiple classes.
Space is limited for all classes, so pre-registration is required. The classes are available for free to library patrons thanks to a grant from the Technology Opportunities for the Public (TOP) from the Tennessee State Library and Archives.Â
